Through this season of Lent, we are corporately engaging with the practice of fasting. Together, for the 40 days leading up to Easter, we are challenging ourselves to fast from our digital devices.
Lent is a significant time in the Christian Liturgical calendar. Beginning on the first day of Lent, Wednesday 02/10, this is an opportunity for us as a congregation to prepare our hearts and minds as we fix our eyes on Jesus through this fasting practice.
As we abstain from media, this Digital Fast is meant to help us silence the noise and distractions of our digital devices so that we can pursue greater intimacy with Jesus. The result being to get our spirituality into our bodies. Moreover, this fast is meant to reset our nervous system, help us bring greater awareness to how we relate to our digital devices, and see how we can be more present to God and to those around us.

The Global Week of Prayer is a worldwide prayer meeting happening September 6–13. We’re lifting up the name of Jesus in prayer in every nation, including the United States.
What am I praying for?
As you pray, you join followers of Jesus in all the nations in declaring that Jesus is Lord over all of the earth. We’re seeking to encounter this beauty and power, and boldly carry Jesus into our towns, cities, and nations. We are asking him to move in our communities. We want churches to be filled with renewed passion for prayer, and we want people to get curious about Jesus.
Where and when we will pray?
Sojourn has set aside some specific times to join the global church in prayer this week. We will start by praying together in our Gospel Communities, we are working on reserving some space where we meet on Sundays (details coming soon), and we will finish by praying together on Sunday, September 13 in our pre-gathering prayer.
