The act of baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, as well as our own death to sin and resurrection to new life. So every baptism is a celebration of salvation.
If you have never been baptized and would like to be on this day please email us to schedule a meeting with one of our leaders or show up ready on March 31st!
This luncheon is for all of those who serve in some capacity at Sojourn during our weekend gatherings. This is a way for us to break bread together, discuss the future, and get on the same page regarding our gatherings. Lunch will be provided but you must rsvp by emailing info@sojournpdx.org.
The first step on the path to starting a Table is to attend one of our monthly training and equipping events. Offered monthly, these trainings are an opportunity to learn more and ask questions. Lunch will be provided by make sure to RSVP!

The camp will consist of a variety of activities for kids to have fun and interact with others in the community. There will be sports, group games, and crafts. Don’t miss this great opportunity to help raise money for our neighborhood school, Vernon.

Starting Wednesday, July 3rd through Wednesday July 31st we will have Church in the Park on Wednesday evening. We will gather for a short time of worship, testimony, and then a time of fellowship in the park. We will alternate between two parks, Wilshire and Overlook, and announce each week where we will gather that coming week.
Sojourn Soccer camp is appropriate for children new to the sport, as well as those that already play and love it. We’ll focus on learning the basics, growing in exiting skills, and practicing teamwork. Make plans to join us at the field at Woodlawn Elementary for this camp! This camp is for those entering Kindergarten through rising 6th graders. More information and Registration!
Serve the City is coming up so mark your calendars! Also, join us in praying for our city as we approach Sunday, July 14th. We want to make the gospel known throughout our city! Once a year, we are committed to practicing rest as a church family by breaking from our usual rhythms. This is an opportunity for us to spend a day resting alongside our community, whether that looks like spending the day hiking, setting aside time to fast and pray, or encouraging one another over brunch.
We believe community is valuable and one of the primary ways to get involved at Sojourn is through our Gospel Community!
Our Fall Gospel Community re-launch is this coming Wednesday, September 4th at 7pm. We are providing a meal that will allow us to fellowship, we will worship and pray, and encourage one another.

We are planning a Fall Kickoff at the conclusion of our busy summer where we invite all of our neighbors, friends, and community to join us as we reenter our normal church rhythms.
During the month of November we are collecting new/unwrapped toys in partnership with the Portland Rescue Mission so that the men from The Harbor can provide their children with toys this Christmas. Drop off on Sundays between 9am-12pm at the Oregon Stamp Society.

To prioritize the practice of sabbath rest, we will not be gathering as usual on Sunday, December 29th. Instead, we want to encourage everyone to take the day to rest in God—in whatever way is best for you.

We invite you to join our church family in prayer and fasting as we seek God for his leading for the upcoming year. Beginning on Wednesday, January 1st, we are going to replace one more of our routines of breakfast, lunch, and dinner with prayer and Scripture between January 1st and Wednesday, January 15th.
We are specifically praying for how God will guide us as a church in the upcoming year as we seek His Kingdom Come and His Will Be Done in Portland as it is in Heaven.
We are opening our Sunday gathering space, Tuesday and Thursday from 6am-7am, for those who would like to seek the Lord together.
We will finish off the focus on Wednesday, January 15th during our regular Gospel Community rhythm with prayer and then at 10am with prayer, worship, and communion.
We are continuing our winter drive with Portland Rescue Mission this month and collecting winter hats and gloves in addition to jackets, rain coats, and blankets.
After taking a break from our Gospel Community for the holidays, we will resume our regular rhythm and meet every Wednesday at 7pm. Our Winter meeting location is 3507 N Halleck Street. Email info@sojournpdx.org if you have any questions.
Join us as we cook a meal and enjoy a time of fellowship and worship at the Portland Rescue Mission - The Harbor. This will be in place of our regular Gospel Community as we hangout with the men who are recovering from substance abuse as we eat, fellowship, and worship.
We invite you to join our church family in prayer and fasting this season leading up to Easter. Beginning on Sunday, April 6th, we are going to replace one more of our routines of breakfast, lunch, and dinner with prayer and Scripture between April 6th and Easter Sunday, April 20th.
We are specifically praying for God to receive the glory this Easter, for receptive people to attend our Easter gathering, and obedience in baptism! Every Sunday morning during this time we will meet together to pray at 9:30am.
Radical’s Secret Church is a unique, one-night event that is streamed each Spring to tens of thousands of participants around the world. Encouraged by our persecuted brothers’ and sisters’ example, we meet for close to 6 hours for intense study of God’s Word and passionate prayer for the persecuted. Learn more here.
We will meet in someone’s home and have more of a “watch party” environment as we study God’s Word together, pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters, and fellowship with one another. The cost is $10 per person and that includes us getting access to the live stream and a guided Scripture journal.

Communion Disc Golf and Sojourn are partnering together to host a FREE Disc Golf Tournament at Pier Park. Each day we will host a mini (9) hole competition and we will provide prizes for 1st-3rd place. We will also grill out each night and provide food for attendees.

Compassion NE Portland is a free community health clinic led by local churches. We are many churches representing different denominations serving together to provide compassionate services to our neighbors who are under-insured and in need. To learn more or to volunteer go here.
A group from various churches prayer walks this area every third Thursday at 2pm. Meet in front of the PCC Cascade Student Union and please wear a mask.
Sojourn along with CRU and a few other churches meet in front of the student center and prayer walk for one hour.
March is Social Worker Awareness Month and we'd love to invite you to join us us we show appreciation to the staff of our local Child Welfare branch on Alberta Street.
We will be providing donuts and coffee along with hand written thank you cards.
The Good Neighbor Project is an annual event where churches leave our communities better than we found them. We believe that Jesus cares just as deeply as we do about our communities and because of that we want to roll up our sleeves and help where we are needed.
This year’s Good Neighbor Project planning is in full swing as we join the families and community at Vernon School for a Community Care Day by improving their school grounds.
This summer our Gospel Community will be working through the book Radical Together by David Platt. You’re invited to join us weekly on Wednesdays as we explore the concepts in this study together.
We are going to worship together Sunday morning as normal, provide a box lunch for those who can stick around and serve by participating in the Alberta Street Spring Cleanup.
